In 2008, Coach Flanigan established the Chester Triathlon Club with the YMCA of Greater Richmond (Chester Branch). In 2008, the team was a small group of 6 participating in a 12 week program. In 3 short years the program has grown into a year-round program with 60+ members and counting. In 2009 the team won the Richmond Multisports “Great Balls of Fire” which is awarded to the team exhibiting the greatest team spirit. The Chester Tri Team is a USAT Official Club.

In 2012 the program has now expended into 5 YMCA’s in the Greater Richmond area. Chester, Chickahominy, Downtown, Midlothian and the Patrick Henry YMCA’s all have growing team’s and still have room for you!
